Discount Calculator
Calculate sale prices with single or stacked discounts.
What is a Discount Calculator?
A discount calculator helps you determine the final price of an item after applying one or more discounts. It supports both percentage-based and fixed-dollar discounts, and can stack multiple discounts to show cumulative savings.
How to Use
- Enter the original price of the item.
- Set discount value and type (percentage or dollar amount). Use presets for quick entry.
- Add additional discounts to stack them and view the breakdown of each discount applied.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does discount stacking work?
Each discount is applied sequentially to the price remaining after the previous discount. For example, a 20% discount followed by a 10% discount is not the same as a single 30% discount. The second discount applies to the already-reduced price.
Can I mix percentage and dollar discounts?
Yes, you can freely combine percentage-based and fixed-dollar discounts in any order. Each discount is applied in sequence to the running total. This flexibility lets you model real-world scenarios like coupon codes combined with sale prices.
What are the preset buttons for?
The preset buttons (10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50%) let you quickly set common discount percentages with a single click. They replace the current discount list with a single percentage discount. You can then add more discounts on top if needed.
